CHAPEL OF ST. MARY MAGDALENE, THE SZANIAWSKI FOUNDATION

It was built around 1660 on the model of other chapels. It seems that this altar from 1756-58 comes as well
from Sebastian Zeisel’s workshop.

The painting in the altar is the work of an unknown painter from the 2nd half. XVII and presents the last Communion, which St. Magdalena, her brother, Saint. Lazarus, Bishop of Marseilles. The painting from the 17th century, on the top of the altar, presents Saint. Helena, Empress, and Saint. Makary, bishop of Jerusalem, who helped to find the relic of the Holy Cross on Golgotha

On the western wall of the chapel hangs the famous painting of the “Fire of Lublin” from 1719. It presents the rescue of the city from extermination through prayers and processions with relics. At the entrance to the chapel, on the left, an epitaph of Feliks Konstanty Szaniawski, d. in 1721.
